Hill Farm Preserves makes artisan condiments and preserves in north-west Tasmania from natural ingredients. We don’t add any preservatives, colours, or artificial flavours. Our premium products are made in small batches and labelled by hand.
The product range includes seeded and paste mustards, jam, marmalade, chutney, relish, jelly, fruit paste, apple cider vinegar (original and flavoured) and GM-free cold-pressed canola oil (original and infused). All our product labels feature hand painted artwork by a local Tasmanian artist to capture the beauty of the ingredients we use.
The Hill Farm brand has been gracing retail shelves for many years. Karin Luttmer is the third owner, having purchased it from Carolyn Nichols in early 2016.
Born in Israel, Karin moved to Australia with her English husband in 2000. They had met when he volunteered in her kibbutz, and married soon after. Boat Harbour became their home in 2004, joining her husband’s family in the north-west Tasmanian coastal town. Karin worked for several years with Carolyn before purchasing the business. Many of the original recipes are still under production today, as well as new ones created by Karin.
Hill Farm Preserves products are available throughout Australia, have been exported to Japan since the early 2000’s and expanded into Singapore and Sri Lanka in 2018. We also work with international chefs and restaurateurs Tetsuya Wakuda and Luke Mangan to make unique products for retail under their exclusive labels.
The Kitchen where our premium quality and delicious products are made can be found nestled in lush farming country in the north-west of Tasmania at Sisters Creek. It is flanked by Rocky Cape National Park and Bass Strait to the north, and fertile dairy and agricultural farming land all around. Canola and yellow mustard seeds are all grown and harvested on the adjoining farm and used heavily in our product range.
Owner Karin Luttmer is lucky enough to live nearby in a cliff-top home overlooking Bass Strait, where she can indulge her love of photography and birdwatching.
It’s no wonder we say “it’s a beautiful place to preserve”.
Hill Farm Preserves is HACCP accredited, meeting the highest international food industry standards for quality assurance. This, combined with the use of natural ingredients, ensures the creation of products of the highest quality and taste experience.
Hill Farm Preserves is a proud partner of Brand Tasmania, an innovative Tasmanian place of origin branding initiative. Being Tasmanian is the quiet pursuit of the extraordinary, and Hill Farm Preserves is proud to be Tasmanian pursuing the extraordinary.
